Following is a description of the purpose and proposed activities of A.A.L.I.V.E. - Adults with Autism: Living with Independence, Value and Esteem.

Our two immediate goals are one, to purchase homes, which will in turn provide affordable housing to Adults with Autism. This need is to allow our Adult Autistic Consumer Community the opportunity to live in an Independent setting. Currently, the majority of Adults with Autism do not hold the resources necessary to live apart from their families. The A.A.L.I.V.E. organization is dedicated to offering Adults with Autism this much-deserved choice. The second primary goal is to organize and fund social outings for Adults with Autism. For example, a bowling and pizza event, attending a sporting event, going to the movies, etc. These types of social opportunities would assist in the integration of Adults with Autism in our community; and, allow for them to have experiences that otherwise would not be available. Shared socialization is an essential component in an individualÕs ability to live with fulfillment and esteem.

Our long term goal is to acquire Real Estate whereby we can develop a Community Center where Adults with Autism may choose to participate in a variety of activities to enhance their talents, interests and fundamental needs across recreational, social, educational, vocational and leisure domains.

A.A.L.I.V.E.'s principal focus will be to provide Adults with Autism a chance to make choices about how they would enjoy living their Adult Life. This can be accomplished by presenting and offering a variety of options from which choices can be made.
